Pakistani winters usually tend to revolve around weddings, fashion and food. Every winter brings with it a plethora of fashion weeks and solo fashion shows. Hum TV in collaboration with Pantene will be hosting its Bridal Couture Week from 8th-10th December which will bring together a multitude of talented designers under one roof.

The 15th Edition of the Bridal Couture Week was opened by Fahd Hussayn whose showstoppers was the team of Arth 2 including Shaan, Humaima Malick, Mohib Mirza and Uzma Hassan. The dynamic designer presented a colourful collection with vibrant hues of hot pinks and greens. Showstopper Humaima Malick sported a pink draped gown with a gorgeous long coat with heavy kaam, while Uzma Hassan wore a traditional red and gold lengha.

Fahd Hussayn’s collection titled “Arth Novelty” was a treat to the eyes, especially the detailed, intricate work and vivacious colour palette.

The other designers who presented at the Hum Bridal Couture Week Day 1 included Mifrah, Humayun Alamgir, Reema Ahsan and Aisha Imran.

While Mifrah’s collection gravitated more towards peaches, golds and champagnes, Reema Ahsan’s “Je Suis Belle” collection was full of colour especially red. Reema’s showstopper, Mira Sethi, wore a lovely gold/silvery shirt with a velvet, plum lengha. The sharp contrast was stunning to say the least.

Humayun Alamgir presented a rich collection of sherwanis with elaborate turbans and headgear. His collection titled “Poshak” boasted royal blues and burgundies as well as black. The sherwanis were heavily embellished and there was plenty of velvet in his collection. Heart throb Bilal Abbas Khan walked the ramp for the designer in a red, velvet sherwani.

The last celebrity appearance of the night was Sajal Aly who walked the ramp in a stunning mint blue ensemble from Mohsin Naveed Ranjha’s “Gulab Sandesh” collection. She cat walked to the tune, ‘Billo Hai’ from the upcoming Pakistani film, Parchi and set the stage on fire.

The makeup for the entire show was done by Team Nabila. Clean and highlighted skin with eyes done in shades of gold and peachy lips dominated the cat walk. As far as the hair were concerned, sleek buns with middle parting were popular along with voluminous wavy hair.

What really stood out on the ramp were the jewellery pieces, especially the jhumkas and chokers. Hamna Amir is the jewellery partner for this bridal week and her collection was breathtaking.

While the event was well-organised, the only downside was the lack of schedule and adherence to the timings given. But maybe then that is expected in an event as big as this? Nonetheless, if the organisers could stick to the given time and schedule, it would save a lot of trouble.

Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week has been off to a stellar start and we are looking forward to seeing what the next two days have in store.
