Boxing champion Amir Khan celebrated his 31st birthday by being the seventh star to be eliminated from the reality show, I’m A Celebrity 2017.
Viewers finally got their wish for the boxer to leave amid claims of ‘bullying’ against Iain Lee and ‘sexism’ against Georgia Toffolo.
Amir tried to claim that he had conquered his fear, which was disputed by Ant McPartlin, before revealing why he stole strawberries from his fellow campmates.
To that the boxer replied that he let Iain Lee take the blame for the strawberry debacle in which the duo demolished the tasty treats, because “I was scared so I let Iain take the blame. He had a bad reputation so my camp mates would never suspect it. I did feel guilty but I fixed it by pretending the strawberries and cream were awful.”
He added that “I was scared. Iain, when he came into camp, he didn’t have the best reputation. The way he acted. My teammates would never have expected me to do that. I put my hand up – Iain provoked me to do that.”
When shown a montage of his trials, Amir asked: “Did you edit those screams? They weren’t my screams.”
On whether jungle life was what he expected, Amir said: “It was a lot harder. When I came face to face with animals I thought this wasn’t in the contract.
“Honestly it’s a lot harder, living on rice and beans for a couple of days, sleeping outside, I had that fear in me”
Amir said his goodbyes when he was named as the next celebrity to be evicted. “You lot amaze me, I had the best time and I’ll see you outside,” he told his campmates.
Later, Amir shared a shirtless picture of himself on Twitter, which read, “Great to be out of the jungle.”
