ISLAMABAD: The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) has lamented over violations and irregularities at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Islamabad and appealed to the Chancellor to take immediate notice of situation and action against the senior management.
Taking serious notice of complaints by CIIT faculty, Central President FAPUASA Dr. Kaleem Ullah Barech and Dr. Shehzad Ashraf President FAPUASA Islamabad Chapter, in joint statement said that years-long services of employees and the faculty at CIIT are being terminated without any notice by the ad hoc administration where, according to FAPUASA, some top management people are even involved in getting salary from three different organizations.
It alleged that being acting Rector, important decisions of appointments at senior positions and terminations are being made in violation of Supreme Court decisions. The academic freedom and freedom of expression have been deliberately curtailed to suppress the voices of faculty who played an important role in making CIIT as reputed organization. They also announced if the attention could not be paid by the concerned authorities, FAPUASA would announce protest throughout the country.
