The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has assured National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) of the army’s full support in its efforts to eradicate terrorism from the country.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing on Friday, NACTA National Coordinator Ihsan Ghani visited the ISPR head office in Rawalpindi.
Ghani met ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor and discussed coordination, cooperation and support for the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts by the counter-terrorism authority.
Over the course of the meeting, Gen Ghafoor guaranteed full support from his department on behalf of the armed forces.
In the aftermath of Peshawar’s Army Public School massacre in 2014, it was unanimously agreed in National Action Plan (NAP) to strengthen NACTA, thus to increase its capacity to counter the threat of terrorism.
