ISLAMABAD: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced countrywide protests against US President Donald Trump’s controversial decision about recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
JI chief Sirajul Haq said that the decision is likely to cause tensions in the Muslim world and that Trump is putting world peace at risk with such decisions.
He said that the JI will take to the streets on Dec 8.
Last night in a controversial decision, the US president announced that the American embassy will be shifted from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in order to ‘resolve’ the decades-long dispute between Palestine and Israel.
The international community in general and Muslim world, in particular, has widely criticised Trump’s decision.
