LAHORE: Police in Lahore, have recovered a huge quantity of meat from dead cattle which was to be supplied to butcher shops in the city.
According to details, Nawan Kot police recovered around 10,000 kilograms of dead animal meat during an action taken in Shera Kot Bakar Mandi area of the city.
Three suspects were arrested by the police during the raid while the fourth managed to flee.
The police have sent the samples of the harmful meat to the forensic laboratory for testing. It has also contacted Punjab Food Authority to help destroy the meat.
According to sources, dead and sick cattle were slaughtered in Bakar Mandi and their harmful meat was later supplied in Lahore.
