ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a reception in Islamabad to celebrate the 33rd South Asian Association for Regional Corporation (SAARC) Charter Day, on Friday.
The event to commemorate 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Charter will be attended by the high commissioners, ambassadors from the SAARC member countries, Observer States, representatives of the SAARC bodies based in Islamabad and officials from various federal Ministries, as well as journalists.
Pakistan, one of the founding members of SAARC, has remained committed to the objectives of the organisation as enshrined in its charter and has played an active role in its activities.
Pakistan hosted the 4th and 12th SAARC Summits in 1988 and 2004, respectively, and will be hosting the 19th SAARC Summit in Islamabad.
