Cybercriminals, MQM-L activist among 5 arrested by rangers

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five accused, including three cybercriminals, in different targeted raids in the metropolis.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, a Rangers team carried out a targeted raid in Gulberg area and apprehended three cybercriminals – Usman alias Shano, Asif Rajput and Javaid alias Ali. He further said that the detainees were involved in looting people through fake prize money schemes and several cybercrimes.

Separately, a rangers party raided a house in Madina Colony and detained a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) activist Muhammad Kamran alias Kami. The Rangers claimed that he was involved in aerial firing during strikes, wall-chalking, dealing illegal weapons and other crimes.

Meanwhile, on a tip-off, Rangers raided Lyari’s docks area and arrested a gang war member Noorullah alias Noori, allegedly involved in extortion, target killing and other criminal activities, said rangers.

The Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons and other contraband from their possession.
