Sultan Azam Temuri posted as new Islamabad IG

ISLAMABAD: Federal government on Wednesday appointed Dr Sultan Azam Temuri as the new Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) inspector general (IG).

He was serving as Regional Police Officer (RPO) at Gujranwala division before his current appointment.

Notification available to Pakistan Today reads that “Dr Sultan Azam Temuri, a BS-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving under government of Punjab, is transferred and posted as inspector general (IG) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police, under interior division, in his own pay and scale with immediate effect and until further orders.”

Meanwhile, incumbent ICT IG Muhammad Khalid Khattak, a BS-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently posted as ICT IG, under interior division was transferred and directed to report to establishment division with immediate effect and until further orders.

On the other hand, a BS-20 officer of Secretariat Group named Ehsanur Rahim, presently posted as defence production division joint secretary, was transferred and posted as water resources division joint secretary. Another BS-19 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, presently posted as interior division joint secretary was transferred and posted as defence production division joint secretary under section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973 with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, cabinet division issued the notification of Chaudhry Naseer Ahmad Bhutta as special assistant to the prime minister on legal affairs. Bhutta is also the president of the lawyer wing of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and recently became the member of Central Working Committee (CWC) of PML-N.
