BADIN: A rally to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day was organised by Badin’s anti-corruption department on Wednesday.
Officials and staff from several government departments, students and others participated in the rally, which passed from many roads of the city and concluded outside Badin Press Club.
However, the rally missed the presence of political and social representatives.
It is worth mentioning that government departments of the district are notorious for allegations of corruption and receiving bribes.
Another rally to commemorate the International Day of Disabled Persons was taken out from Badin government service centre for special education and concluded at Badin Press Club.
Mukhtiar Burero, Nasrullah Jamali, Ikhlaq Ahmed Pathan, Imtiaz Ali, Muzammil Shah and others participated in the rally.
The participants stressed the need for government and civil society’s assistance for persons with disabilities. They demanded for the Sindh chief minister to reinstate the disability quota and opportunities of employment for persons with disabilities.
The International Day of Disabled Persons is celebrated worldwide on December 3, while the International Anti-Corruption Day is observed on December 9.
