LAHORE: An inauguration ceremony was held at Children Hospital Lahore to launch an aviary and an atrium at the newly constructed inpatient block.
The inpatient block lacked recreational and play facilities for children receiving medical treatment in both inpatient and outpatient wards. Swings, slides and other activities and equipment for children have now been installed at these facilities and healthy birds have been kept for the children.
Beaconhouse Group Chairperson Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri inaugurated the facilities for the children. “Along with our primary purpose of delivering quality education within our schools, Beaconhouse remains strongly committed to its wider social responsibility by supporting public education and community development through wide-ranging activities,” she told the gathering of senior hospital and Beaconhouse management.
Hospital Dean Dr Masood Sadiq told the media present that such play and recreational facilities were not currently present at any other hospital in Lahore. He also thanked Beaconhouse for their contribution.
Since its inauguration earlier this year, the block housed 618 more beds for children under treatment and added 16 more operation theatres and also caters to 2,500 additional outpatients daily.
