KASUR: Kasur accounts department is the main hub of corruption in the district since it is impossible to get a bill passed from there without any commission or bribe.
These views were expressed by District Chairman Rana Sikander Hayat in a seminar conducted by the anti-corruption department at Kasur DPS. He said that the revenue and police department were also at the top of the list in corruption.
Kasur Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Islam Arif and Kasur Anti-Corruption Deputy Director Muhammad Umer Maqbool also addressed the seminar.
Arif said that there were many types of corruption in the society and this evil had become part and parcel of the system. He lamented that it was impossible to get a glass of pure milk in this corruption-ridden era.
He also said that “if we want to get rid of this evil, then we shall have to make bold decisions.
Muhammad Umer Maqbool said that to ensure good governance, we have to eradicate corruption from the society. He added that the online complaint system had also been introduced in the department to facilitate the applicants to register their complaints.
He also said that the laws against corruption were also being implemented on the employees of the anti-corruption department. He added that good governance and corruption free Punjab was the vision of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and to ensure good governance, there would be zero tolerance for corrupt elements.
