ISLAMABAD: The excitement of Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s (PPP) workers is on its peak at the Parade Ground Islamabad to mark the party’s 50th Golden Jubilee Foundation Day.
The zeal, passion and the dedication of PPP were incomparable as the colors of the party took over Islamabad on Tuesday. People from all ages especially children and ladies could be seen wearing the party’s flag coloured dresses, while minors could be seen with painted faces.
The charged participants, who were gathered at the parade ground from all across the country, were dancing to the party’s songs and chanting slogans. A huge number of the party’s workers took a long distance trip and came from Sindh especially to participate in the foundation day celebrations; however a good number of workers from Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab also reached the venue to celebrate the party’s golden jubilee.
Talking to Pakistan Today, the charged workers said that the huge participation in a well-organized public gathering proved the fact that PPP is truly the federal party having a sizable existence in all parts of the country. They pointed towards the passion of the participants that spoke volumes about the party’s popularity.
Shabeena, who came from Peshawar to attend the gathering, said that she had been impatiently waiting for the day to come. She said that PPP is the true voice of workers and the poor while the other political parties only promoted elites and the wealthy class, she also added that today’s huge participation obviously forced the political analysts and political pundits to revisit their approach regarding the party’s popularity.
A 65-year-old man, Kashif, who was in a wheelchair, narrated his love and association with the party and said that he came from Rawalpindi to listen to the son of the martyred leader Benazir Bhutto.
He said that people shouldn’t to be worried about PPP, as it has the potential to bounce back, hence the detractors will face disappointment in the coming elections, because once again the party would do wonder in the elections.
Security Arrangements for the Jalsa:
Foolproof security arrangements have been made for the PPP parade ground public gathering, a walkthrough gate was installed where the participants were thoroughly checked.
A police official told Pakistan Today that more than 800 Frontier Constabulary (FC) and Islamabad police officials were deputed for the security of the jalsa. Law enforcement officials were also strictly instructed to keep vigilance so as to avert any untoward incident.
