Foreign Office on Monday said a Pakistan-backed resolution passed unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly over the right to self-determination for people who were subjected to foreign occupation is proof of India’s isolation on the Kashmir issue.

For the past four decades, the resolution has been adopted every year in a bid to highlight the human rights violations by the occupying forces in Indian held Kashmir.

The resolution also highlighted how India side had been trying to pass on its rights violations and crimes against humanity as efforts to counter terror.

It is imperative for India to implement the resolutions of United Nations Security Council that calls for a plebiscite in the disputed region and allow Kashmiri people to decide their fate.
