Sindh IGP for modernisation of police hospital

KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Allah Dino Khowaja said on Monday that the Garden headquarters police hospital in Karachi would soon be modernised and upgraded to facilitate police personnel and their families.

He was addressing a ceremony to open a modern ‘madadgar 15’ call centre near the airport. He said that the new call centre was equipped with sophisticated gadgets and would greatly help in fighting crime in the metropolis.

He further commented that it was the first time in Sindh police’s history that the welfare budget had crossed Rs50 million per month. He said that funds of over Rs400 million were present in the police welfare fund and soon the police hospital at Garden Karachi would be upgraded and modernised to facilitate police force and their families.

It may be noted that police force in Sindh has long been demanding for the police hospital at Garden headquarters to be upgraded and modernised so that specialized medical treatment is available for cops, officers and their families. The hospital also needs a modern emergency and trauma care centre to treat the cops injured in police encounters and other mishaps.
