KARACHI: Rev Todd of St Patrick’s High School passed away at in Karachi on Monday. He was 96.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 pm after which he will be laid to rest in Gora graveyard.
Father Todd was born in Karachi on November 30, 1921. As per a website created by his nephew, the priest studied at University of Bombay and the same school where he served as an educator, St Patrick’s High School.
He started teaching at the school as an assignment given to him after he was ordained a priest. During the same period, he enrolled for Bachelors in Arts at the University of Karachi, as the varsity has announced an opportunity that allowed schoolteachers to study privately for the graduate and postgraduate (MA) degrees.
He has also served at schools in Hyderabad, Sukkur and Quetta. As per the website, it was in Quetta where Father Todd survived an assassination attempt, after which he was brought to Karachi where he was appointed as the assistant parish priest of St Anthony’s Church.
