ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Khurshid Shah said on Monday that a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was behind the expulsion of Javed Hashmi from the party.

Speaking with journalists, Shah said, “Return of Javed Hashmi to PML-N is a good step. I had advised Javed Hashmi not to quit PML-N when he was leaving it. But a PML-N figure was behind forcing him to flee from the party.”

He said that the person responsible for Javed Hashmi’s expulsion currently stood sidelined, adding that Javed Hashmi was the senior most person in the party after Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif and that it would take time for someone else to come close to matching his status.

He went on to say that Nawaz Sharif had been disqualified and everyone would have to trust the courts with regard to the cases pertaining to Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen.

Khurshid Shah said on the occasion that the administration of inexpensive and early justice was the need of the hour, adding that the steps taken for providing justice were highly laudable.
