Over 5,300 Students appear for SALU entry test

KHAIRPUR: More than 5,300 candidates, including 1,100 female aspirants, appeared in the entry test 2018 for admissions in bachelor programmes in all faculties and teaching departments of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) held at various campuses of the university on Monday.

As many as 106 blocks were prepared as venues of the test in the main campus of Khairpur and other campuses in Shikarpur, Ghotki and Shahdadkot, for admissions in 28 departments.

SALU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Parveen Shah visited the main campus venue for the test. Speaking to the candidates, the VC said that it was indeed a historic day and a sensational moment. She remarked that only one percent of the youth of Pakistan ever get a chance to study in a university.

She said that Pakistan needed a highly qualified, competent, committed and credible human resource to get it out of its multiple crises and expressed hopes that the students of SALU would provide for that need.

She also announced that the three top position-holders of the entry test would have their fees waived off. Dr Shah also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the test to be conducted smoothly

Many other notable members of the faculty were also present during the test.
