ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday criticised Imran Khan, saying that when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was installing power projects and working for the betterment of the country there was a person who was attacking the parliament.
Addressing reporters outside the accountability court, Marriyum said that those who eliminated load shedding and terrorism are appearing before the courts and that the people of Pakistan will once again choose and vote for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif during the general elections in 2018.
She also said that the PML-N government had produced a record level of electricity in the country. “We had promised to rid the country of darkness.”
Responding to Marriyum’s remarks, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said that her statements won’t change the reality.
“Just because they are claiming that load shedding has ended does not mean that it is the truth,” said Chaudhry, adding that six-hour load shedding is still quite common in rural areas.
It is important that snap elections are held early, it would prove to be beneficial for the country, he said while speaking to media in Lahore.
Fawad remarked that six of the 24 members on PML-N’s Central Executive Committee are members of Nawaz’s family.
