MUMBAI: Acting legend and theatre veteran Shashi Kapoor passed away at the age of 79 in Mumbai.
Shashi Kapoor had acted over 175 movies, in both Indian and international arena. He was one of the very few actors in mainstream cinema to take risks of doing lovemaking scenes, in an era where they were frowned upon.
Shashi Kapoor has not been very active in the movie circuit considering his ill health and most of the Kapoor parties had been kept at his residence bearing this in mind.
Tributes for the late actor are pouring in from all over the world.

Born as Balbir Raj Kapoor, he appeared in multiple Bollywood films alongside some English language ones. He starred in numerous movies with legend Amitabh Bachchan, most notable among which include Kaala Pathar, Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila and Do Aur Do Paanch.
He was the first Indian actor to work extensively in Hollywood films and British films and appeared with Pierce Brosnan in The Deceivers.
In 2015, he became the third in his family to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
The legendary actor was married to late English actress Jennifer Kendal, with whom he established Prithvi Theatre in 1978. He is survived by three children, Kunal Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor and Karan Kapoor
Indeed a very sad day for Bollywood.
