Seems like the Pakistani film industry is on a roll. It is going to be a jam-packed winter season with back to back releases. While the end of December will see Rangreza and Arth 2, Chupan Chupai and now Parchi is all set to be released in January.

Yesterday saw the trailer launch of ARY Films latest offering Parchi amidst a lot of dhoom dhamaka and fanfare.

Directed by Azfar Jafri of Janaan fame, the film boasts a bunch of fresh and talented actors including the stunning Hareem Farooq who has certainly stolen the show (and our hearts) along with Ali Rehman Khan, Usman Mukhtar, Ahmed Ali Akhbar and Shafqat Khan.

The story has been written by Shafqat Khan who is an established theatre play writer.

The short trailer is full of action, comedy and dances, along with a sprinkling of emotions, all the key ingredients for an entertainer. The lead actors’ gangster attire is the cherry on top.

From the trailer, it is safe to say that Hareem will be dominating the show as not the only female lead in the film, but also as the central character of “Madam Saab”. She has nailed her role as a gangster along with looking like an absolute diva in the song Billo Hai composed by Sahara and featuring Manj Musik and Nindy Kaur.

The songs featured in the trailer are also enough for you to get into the feel of the film. Osman Khalid Butt is the man behind the choreography of the songs.

According to the makers of the film, the story revolves around the ‘parchi’ system in Pakistan – local gangsters issuing parchi to businesses to ask them for money. The sensitive topic has been touched without any serious undertones so that people can understand and enjoy the movie.

“Our vision was to make a movie on a unique concept that has all the essential elements in it. Parchi has comedy, action, music and a pinch of romance which makes it a complete package,” said Imran Raza Kazmi, the producer of the movie.

“After receiving such an overwhelming response to the trailer, I can’t wait for the audiences to see the movie. I have done a very different character in this movie and I loving the feedback so far,” said the co-producer of Parchi Hareem Farooq while speaking to the media after the launch.

“The entire team of Parchi has worked really hard to make Parchi possible. The dedication and hard work of the entire team can be seen in the trailer itself. We hope the audiences enjoy the movie,” shared the third co-producer of the movie Arif Lakhani.

CEO ARY Digital Network and Co-Producer Jerjees Saja said, “ARY Films has always believed in the movies released under its banner. We have high expectations from Parchi as it not only has an amazing cast but an excellent director and story-line.”

Parchi is slated to release on January 5, 2018.
