Ex-PM Shaukat Aziz’s son dies of cancer in London

Abid Aziz, the only son of former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, died of a protracted illness in London on Sunday. He was only 43.

Abid Aziz, who was suffering from cancer, was under treatment at Royal Free Hospital Pond Street, London, where he breathed his last.

Funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered on Monday.

Family members said Abid Aziz had been suffering from cancer for a long time.

Shaukat Aziz served as the prime minister from August 20, 2004 to November 15, 2007. He also served as the finance minister from November 6, 1999 to November 15, 2007.
