SARGODHA: Former senator Pir Khawaja Hameeduddin Sialvi has threatened to lead a Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) march in Lahore if Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah fails to apologise and resign by Dec 3 (Sunday).
The Sargodha-based spiritual leader stated this while talking to reporters on Friday. He reiterated his demand for the resignation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over his controversial remarks about the minority Ahmedi community.
Sialvi adamantly asserted his demand despite meeting Minister of Auqaf Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri at his residence in Sial Sharif.
On Tuesday, Qadri had called on Pir Sialvi in an attempt to resolve the matter. However, during the meeting, Pir Sialvi categorically stated that the resignations of PML-N lawmakers would only be reviewed provided that Sanaullah tenders resignation and seeks pardon from the spiritual leader over his alleged controversial remarks about Ahmedis.
Over a dozen lawmakers belonging to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had tendered their resignations to Sailvi of Aastana Aaliya Sial Sharif over the issue of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (finality of Prophethood) soon after the government had launched an operation against the protesters of Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR), who were staging a sit-in in the federal capital since the last 20 days.
Pir Sialvi has given a three-day deadline to the government to mull over the matter, following which he has threatened to lead protests in Lahore.
