The veteran leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad on Saturday announced to form his own political party.
Talking to media outside Karachi’s City Court, the MQM leader said that he will address a rally in Orangi Town on December 16 where further details regarding his future political strategy will be made public.
A former confidante of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Shahzad after a split in the party had announced support for Farooq Sattar. Last week, he had predicted that MQM-P and Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party would join hands on the 12 Rabbiul Awwal.
Shahzad, who ended his self-imposed exile earlier this year, was arrested as soon as he landed at Karachi airport in February, and faces three cases dating back to 1992 pertaining to murder, kidnapping, arson and rioting.
