US consul general calls on CM Punjab

US Consul General Ms Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here on Thursday.

During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including the promotion of Pak-US relations and an increase in cooperation in various sectors came under discussion. The US consul general appreciated the performance of Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif towards the welfare of the people and added that practical steps have been taken for public welfare in the Punjab.

She said that the Punjab government has introduced great reforms in different sectors. She said that America gives great importance to its relations with Pakistan and cooperation with the Punjab government in various sectors will be further expanded.

Talking on the occasion, the CM said that Pakistan has set a new example in the comity of nations by rendering immortal sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Due to the great sacrifices of the Pakistani nation, peace has been firmly restored in the country. He said that terrorism and extremism have become an international issue which requires collective efforts of the nations of the world in an organized manner.

It is hoped that mutual relations between Pakistan and US will be further strengthened in the coming days, concluded the CM.
