KARACHI: Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister for Information Science and Technology Dr Sikandar Ali Shoro said on Wednesday that the provincial government was going to install 10,000 surveillance cameras at different locations of Karachi under the safe city project to combat criminal activities in the city.
Dr Sikandar Ali Shoro was speaking as the chief guest in the 7th “consumer products and services conference 2017” on the occasion of world quality day, organised by The Consumers Eye Pakistan (TCEP), Consumer Voice MAG and Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO) of Pakistan with the support of Consumer Pakistan, Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association.
Dr Sooro lauded Umar Ghauri for successfully organising the conference, saying that it held a vital importance for traders, the business community and consumers.
Sikandar Ali Shoro said that he had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chinese ministry of industries and information technology for the establishment of an Information Technology (IT) industrial park in Sindh to promote IT in Sindh.
The Consumers Eye Pakistan (TCEP) Chairman Umar Ghauri in his keynote speech said that TCEP has been organising these Quality Conferences to make Pakistan a consumers’ heaven and to strengthen the country on the basis of quality, productivity and competitiveness of products and services in Pakistan.
Other guests on the occasion, including Pakistan Navy Commander (retd) Muhammad Abdul Rehman, former Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPPCI) Vice President MA Jabbar, IPO Deputy Director Syed Nasrullah, Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association President Haji Shakir Umar Gujjar and Consumer Voice MAG Executive Editor Rasim Khan, also praised TCEP in their speeches for the organisation’s efforts to promote a culture of standard and quality in Pakistan.
Dr Shoro distributed mementoes to the guests, speakers and participants at the end of the conference, while Umar Ghauri presented a memento to Dr Shoro.
These cameras can shoot tranquilizer darts, defiantly help fighting crime in the city. Police failed to apprehend criminals even with working camera footage.
