Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the purpose of observing World AIDS Day is to raise awareness among the public about the prevention from AIDS so that they could remain safe from this disease and live a better and healthy life.
In his message on World AIDS Day, the CM stressed the need for an effective awareness campaign to educate the people about safety from this disease.
He said that the adoption of precautionary measures is essential for staying safe from this fatal disease and added that positive attitudes should be adopted for living a healthy life. He said that all possible precautionary measures should be adopted because it is the best way to remain safe from this disease and that sustained efforts are needed to educate people about AIDS.
The chief minister said that effective measures have been adopted for the prevention of AIDS and the Punjab government has provided the facility of free medicines and tests to the patients under the AIDS Control Programme.
“Along with it, blood screening has been made compulsory to ensure safe blood transfusion in the province, he told the media. Today, we should reiterate our commitment that an organized awareness campaign will be launched to educate people about the precautionary measures needed for saving them from this disease,” concluded the chief minister.
