LAHORE: Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated in a befitting manner all-over Punjab said Punjab Minister Local Governments Muhammad Mansha-Ullah Butt.
While talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the local government institutions have chalked out special arrangements under the guidance of their mayors, deputy mayors, chief officers and other officials concerned.
He said that the presence of all officials of the local governments have been ensured on this auspicious occasion as the government has already cancelled public holiday of all the local government (LG) institutions in the province.
He said that the people have also planned different activities and the local governments will cooperate and assist in these activities.
He elaborated that special cleanliness arrangements have been made on the routes of Milad processions, and the patchwork of roads has already been completed.
“We have cleaned roads and paths and helped in removing hanging electricity cables for smooth flow of Rabiul Awwal processions on this day,” he said.
The minister said that the departments concerned have also repaired street lights and made drinking water available along the routes of processions. He added that special teams are there for checking of all arrangements in this regard and imposing punishments in case of any negligence.
