Voting for PML-N is ‘haram’, says SIC chairman

Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza has stated that voting for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after the amendment in the finality of prophethood, is haraam.

Talking to a private news channel, Raza said a government conspiracy has come to light. Owing to this, he said there has been a unanimous decision amongst all factions of the Ahl-e-Sunnat party to declare haram the decision to vote for PML-N after the amendment that had been proposed.

When asked what the elections had to do with religion, he stated that Nawaz Sharif, who has been so vocal after he was disqualified, failed to release a statement on the ongoing issue.

Raza then reiterated that he refused to believe the decision to amend the clause was not intentional and claiming a government conspiracy. He said that if the government does not step down, there has been a unanimous decision that on 12th Rabiul Awwal all Ahl-e-Sunnat processions, numbering in millions, will march towards Islamabad demanding the resignation of the current government for its role in the amendment.
