Two security officials martyred, three others injured in Sibi IED blast

SIBI: Two security officials embraced martyrdom on Wednesday when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Sangan area of Sibi, Balochistan.

The martyred security officials were identified as Sepoy Maqsood and Aqib. Three other soldiers were injured and were taken to a nearby hospital by the rescue officials.

The blast occurred during road clearance work carried out by FCSS 130 wing, according to details. The site of the incident was cordoned off by security officials and started a search operation.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri expressed condolences to the families of the martyred security officials and prayed for the quick recovery of those who were injured.

Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the attack on FC vehicle in Sangan. He said the FC rendered sacrifices to bring peace in Balochistan which would be remembered forever. He said that “our soldiers have vowed to bring terrorists to their ultimate conclusion”. The minister further said “our soldiers by rendering sacrifices are safeguarding lives and properties of the people.” He warned that those who for the sake of some coins bled the motherland would never succeed in their nefarious designs.

In September, five security officials were injured in an IED blast near the border post at Baizai, Mohmand Agency.

In February, a roadside blast claimed the lives of three personnel, including a Pakistan Army captain, in Balochistan’s Awaran district.
