KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday ordered clubbing bail applications of all accused including former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and others in Rs5.76 billion corruption case.
A division bench of SHC heard bail applications accused in Rs5.76 billion reference over alleged corruption in Sindh Information Department.
On the occasion, former information secretary Zulfiqar Shalwani and others filed bail applications. Upon this, the court ordered clubbing the bail applications of all accused in the case. The court ordered the applicants’ counsels to advance arguments on the applications on the next date of hearing.
The court then adjourned the hearing of the case till December 13, 2017.
It is to be mentioned that former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and others accused in the case are in jail after an SHC bench last month refused to extend their interim bail and ordered NAB to arrest them. Memon and others accused are facing charges of corruption worth Rs5.76 billion in the allocations of advertisements for Sindh government’s electronic media awareness campaigns.
