SHEIKHUPURA: An attempt to rescue two detained robbers from a police party on Wednesday failed badly when the robbers were killed in the crossfire between their accomplices and the police.
The police were taking two arrested robbers for the recovery of looted valuables when their six accomplices attacked the police party in Sharqpur Sharif area of Sheikhupura district.
Both robbers were killed due to their accomplices’ firing and the attackers fled the scene after retaliatory firing from police.
Bodies of the killed robbers were shifted to a hospital for postmortem.
