LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has released its special cleanliness plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
The objective is to ensure waste-free surroundings in the city, especially on the 100 major routes of processions. The company has issued a duty roster of about 1,000 workers including officers who will perform duties in three equal shifts during 11th and 12th Rabiul Awal.
According to the plan, sanitary crew along with machinery will be deployed on the processions’ routes. Manual sweeping, mechanical sweeping and washing of the major roads where processions are expected will also be ensured earlier. On the major procession routes, timely emptying of waste containers will also be ensured.
Instructions have been issued to Turkish companies Albayrak and OzPak for the purpose. The approved cleanliness plan also includes the washing of city’s major mosques and liming of pavements.
LWMC will especially focus on the areas of Walled City, Shahdara, Thokar Niaz Baig, Jallo Mor, Islampura, LDA Avenue, Railway Station, Nishtar Town and Chungi Amir Sidhu.
