ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said on Tuesday that the government should have raised the protest issue in the House adding that the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) is in the habit of running away from the parliament.
The Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) leader said this regarding the government’s response to the Faizabad sit-in, adding that the PML-N had been attacked by the very parties it had held close. He observed that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had also remarked on how the situation was handled.
Shah said that he was concerned on how the protest had damaged Pakistan’s image globally, adding that the PPP always stood behind democracy and the Parliament and cared about the country’s image, autonomy and integrity.
Shah was certain that the delimitation bill will be passed before December 11.
