ISLAMABAD: Islamabad airport authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle one kg contraband out of the country. Airport Security Force (ASF) officials at Benazir Bhutto International Airport informed that an alleged smuggler identified as Fazal Wahid was attempting to smuggle 1kg of heroin outside the country.
As per reports by ASF officials, the suspect was attempting to transport ice by hiding it inside a bag containing oranges.
Wahid was expected to travel to Saudi Arabia on a private airlines’ flight.
Investigations have been initiated against the accused, officials informed.
