Punjab govt to celebrate Quaid Day in befitting manner: Mashhood

LAHORE: An important meeting was held Monday with Provincial Schools Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan in the chair at the committee room of Children’s Library Complex.

The meeting reviewed and finalised the arrangements of celebrating Quaid-e-Azam Day on December 25 this year in a befitting manner.

The meeting was largely attended by Schools Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, Walled City of Lahore Authority Director General Kamran Lashari, Special Secretary (Schools) Rana Hassan Akhtar, Director General Public Relations Shahid Iqbal and representatives of different departments, including higher education, finance, women development, sports, police and transport.

At the outset, Mashhood informed the meeting that Punjab government had planned to celebrate the Quaid-e-Azam Day in a befitting manner this year. Under the plan, a historic mega event was being planned at the Punjab University to pay homage to the founder of the nation.

Along with it, colorful ceremonies would also be held in different departments at the district level across the province. Stage dramas would also be displayed through the platform of arts councils in different districts to highlight the importance of the occasion, he added.

On December 25, 200,000 teachers would take the oath to serve the country, and the historic ceremony of reciting national anthem would also be performed. A team of Guinness Book of World Records would cover the event, vying to set a new world record.

The Punjab government would also invite students from other provinces to promote national unity in the students’ community, and the local culture of different areas would be highlighted as well.
