FATA reforms to usher new era of development: KP Governor

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Monday said that the implementation of FATA reforms will lead to initiating a new era of development and progress in the area which is expected to cost almost Rs 90 billion in the near future.

This he stated while talking to a delegation of journalists, hailing from South Waziristan who called on him at the Peshawar Governor’s House. The delegation was led by the Wana Union of Journalists Chairman Adam Khan and also included Nur Ali, Ahmad Noor, Raza Dautani, Mujib-ur-Rehman and others.

The governor while responding to various suggestions said that journalism is a noble profession and the journalists while highlighting the difficulties being faced by the people, are in fact extending a helping hand to the government to resolve the grievances promptly.  Indeed, he added, the role of journalists is not only in reforming the society but also in guiding the people on the path to their well-being and prosperity.

Meanwhile, the members of the delegation thanked the governor for his keen interest in implementing the reforms process and ensuring an accelerated pace of development in FATA as well as providing them with the opportunity of meeting him.
