ISLAMABAD: A 15-year-old seventh-grade student fell from a dolly lift on Sunday and lost her life at Nara district of Abbottabad while going home, said police sources.

A seventh-grade student, namely Misbah d/o Masood, slipped from a dolly lift and fell into a 500 feet deep ravine at Nara village. Locals recovered her body from the ravine and sent it to the native town where her funeral prayers were offered.

Five months ago, 11 persons died when a dolly lift fell into the ravine in Lora circle adjacent to Muree, after the rope broke. After that accident the provincial government and Abbottabad administration banned homemade dolly lifts and started inspection of the lifts by launching various drives.

As the days passed, owners and contractors of the lifts again started the routine work without taking any precautionary measures, wherein, even most lifts were found without doors, and commuters had to sit in the open while passing over thousands of feet deep ravines.
