LAHORE: Trains of the Pakistan Railways on Sunday were either suspended or faced extreme delays due to the blockage of tracks at different places by protesters of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

According to the railway sources, several trains including 10 Down Allama Iqbal Express, 104 Down Subak Kharam, 08 Down Islamabad Express and 40 Down Jaffer Express, got detained at different places for the passengers’ security.

Protesters have blocked the train tracks at Imamia Colony on Grand Trunk (GT) road between Lahore and Rawalpindi, while trains between Lahore and Narowal are not running due to protest and the safety of passengers.

However, the rail track between Lahore and Karachi remained open in Lahore division.

Railway sources remarked that trains would begin to operate as soon as the situation improved.
