KARACHI: Police on Sunday killed an alleged robber during an encounter in Korangi area of the metropolis.
According to rescue sources, a gang of three robbers, aged between 26 to 30 years, were looting people at gunpoint near Korangi’s Causeway area, when a patrolling police party reached the scene. The robbers opened fire at the police team, after which the police retaliated.
During the shootout which continued for some time, a robber suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot while his accomplices fled the scene.
Police also recovered a TT pistol, bullets, mobile phones and a motorcycle from the spot. The body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
