LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore has summoned Associate Professor Shazia Qureshi, wife of Punjab University’s former vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, for December 4 to record her statement regarding her appointment, according to a report by a private media outlet.

According to a notice issued to Shazia Qureshi on November 23, the Bureau has asked her to appear before NAB as investigations against her husband and other PU officials are underway.

In December 2016, Dr Mujahid Kamran was removed from his post on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC) after about nine years, of which he twice served as VC and was on an extension for the third time. NAB is investigating the former Punjab University VC for his alleged role in illegal appointments made during his tenure.
