Lawyers boycott courts, take to streets in Lahore

LAHORE: In a move to show solidarity with the religious groups protesting all over the country against Faizabad operation, lawyers boycotted courts and took to the streets besides staging a protest in front Punjab Assembly on Saturday.

According to reports, in an emergency meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association the lawyers decided to launch a countrywide protest against the operation in Islamabad and have declared to observe Black Day (Youm-e-Sayyah) on Nov 27.

Earlier on Saturday, protests erupted in the city in the aftermath of the Faizabad operation and members of Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah gathered in different parts of the city.

Ferozepur road, Multan road, and Thokar Niaz Baig are currently under siege of the protesters chanting against the government’s operation in the capital.
