Fight against terrorism to ensure country’s survival: CM Shehbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif said Saturday that the fight against terrorism was vital for the survival of the country and sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan in this war are matchless.

He said that the armed forces, police and every segment of society had left an indelible mark on the nation’s history by laying down numerous sacrifices through bravery, courage and valour. Political and military leadership had been brought on one page in the fight against terrorism and we have accomplished a clear victory in this war due to the collective decisions taken with consensus, he added.

The CM said that after the successful execution of operation Zarb-e-Azab, now operation Rad-ul-Fasad was advancing effectively. He said that terrorists were the black sheep of our homeland and their complete elimination was the aim of the government and armed forces.

Furthermore, Shehbaz said that the war against terrorism was owned by every Pakistani, adding that we have to win this fight at any cost. While paying tributes to the brave heroes who had laid down incredible sacrifices in the ongoing war, the chief minister said that their sacrifices would not be allowed to go to waste as it was the obligation of all citizens of the country to rid the motherland of all terrorists.

Moreover, CM Shehbaz said that these martyrs have relinquished their precious lives for the tranquility of the nation, adding that the entire country saluted them for their actions. He added that the individuals who were giving up their today for the country’s tomorrow were the pride of the nation whose sacrifices would never be disregarded.
