Women should play significant role in economy: minister

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Finance Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has stated that it is important for women to play their significant role in the economy by participation in financial and social activities.

Speaking on the occasion of a training workshop organised by Lahore Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) on Friday,  Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said that currently, women only have a 1/4th contribution in labour work and the situation needs improvement.

WCCI organised a workshop on the topic of Technical Vocational Education Training and Gender Mainstreaming. Provincial Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, WCCI President Farhat Imran and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, alongside female entrepreneurs were also present on the occasion.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh speaking on the occasion stated that special driving courses were being introduced and that the government had been working to encourage the involvement of women various skill programs available through TEVTA.
