UK Home Office agrees to provide legal assisstance to NAB in cases against Hussain Nawaz: report

ISLAMABAD: The UK Home Office has conceded to providing legal assistance to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s as requested by the latter in connection to cases against to Hussain Nawaz Sharif, The News confirmed.

As per reports, UK authorities have handed over Hussain’s case to its National Crime Agency for execution of the mutual legal assistance upon the request placed by Pakistan.

However, a similar request filed by NAB pertaining to Hassan Nawaz, the younger son of Nawaz Sharif is yet to be responded by the London authorities.

As per reports, the UK Home Office accepted Pakistan’s request for legal assistance after an important Pakistani ‘official’ visited the UK.

Upon receiving repeated requests for legal assistance in the case of Hussain Nawaz, the British Home Office responded through Carmen Sobande, UK Central Authority, on behalf of the secretary of state.

A letter by the UK Home Office addressed to Shazad Javed Khan of the National Accountability Bureau stated, “Your request for assistance has been considered and accepted by the UKCA on behalf of the Secretary of State and forwarded to the National Crime Agency for execution.”
