Senate body summons Sindh CS over failure to provide protocol to acting president

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Rules and Procedure on Friday summoned Sindh chief secretary (CS) to attend the next meeting and brief it about its failure to provide protocol to the acting President Raza Rabbani during his recent visit to Karachi.

The committee meeting was at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini. The meeting was also attended by Senators Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir and Zahida Khan, along with officials of the ministries concerned.

Chairman of the committee asked Sindh chief secretary, the protocol officer concerned and deputy commissioner to attend the next meeting and inform the committee about the matter.

Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) secretary also briefed the committee that the summary regarding the establishment of housing scheme on the land of National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) would be withdrawn as soon as possible, and a report would be submitted to the body.

The secretary further informed that Capital Development Authority (CDA) would collect all details of land of NARC and buildings through National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) and send the report to Prime Minister House, Ministry of Food Security and Ministry of CADD.

CDA chairman assured the committee that after getting the relevant details of NARC, the lease tenure would be extended.
