LAHORE: The foundation of a new building for Islamic Studies Department has been inaugurated at Punjab University (PU). A ceremony has been held at the campus in this regard.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir and faculty members from different departments of the university were also present at the event.
While addressing the ceremony, Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir stated that Islam is a religion of peace and promotes the same message all over the world.
He added that with the consideration of research in the field of Islamic studies, a separate building had been constructed for the department. According to reports, faculty members donated their salary of one month for the construction of this building.
