KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Wednesday appreciated the positive attitude and support of federal government for the timely execution of three mega development projects recommended by Sindh, which have been adopted as part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The provincial governments were asked by the federal government to come up with mega development projects so as to include them in the CPEC programme.

Karachi circular railways, Dhabeji special economic zone and Keti Bandar (port) projects constituted the projects recommended by Sindh government which were approved.

While talking to media outside Sindh Assembly, Nasir Shah referred to the China-Pakistan Joint Cooperation Committee’s (JCC) meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, in which these projects were discussed and which was also attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Nasir Shah said that the Karachi circular railways and other projects of CPEC were discussed in detail by the JCC and the work on this project would start soon.

He said that the Sindh government had earlier planned to inaugurate Karachi circular railways project on December 25, but before this could be done, the process of tendering among Chinese companies would have to be completed first.
