LAHORE: A contempt of court petition has been filed with the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Maryam Nawaz over her anti-judiciary remarks.
In her contempt plea, petitioner Amna Malik submitted that Maryam Nawaz had issued statements against the judiciary after appearing before the accountability court and she was also posting anti-judiciary messages on social media on a regular basis.
The petitioner argued that Maryam’s statement against the judiciary could create unrest in the country, since every citizen whether poor or rich was bound to respect the judiciary.
She requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against Maryam Nawaz.
