LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that provision of relief to the masses and public service are the pivots of politics of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government.
Those who called on the CM included MNA Chaudhary Iftikhar Nazir and Punjab Assembly members including Mehr Muhammad Fiaz, Javed Allauddin Sajid and Mian Manzir Hussain Ranjha.
The CM said that resources worth billions of rupees have been provided to improve the quality of life of the people by solving their problems. He added that transparency, speed and completion of high-quality development projects are characteristics of the Punjab government.
He said that the government is working day and night so that Pakistan can become a developed and modern state. It is vigorously pursuing the mission of public service despite impediments. Work is being done efficiently and dedicatedly to eradicate the problems of the masses. “In our tenure, a prosperous, peaceful and economically reliant Pakistan has emerged,” he said.
He was talking to members of the assembly belonging to different districts of the province who called on him here today.
The CM insisted that the development of less developed areas has been especially focused under a strategy of composite development through which billions of rupees have been spent to provide basic facilities to the masses living in remote areas.
Speaking of the country’s socio-economic condition, he said that when PML-N came to power, the country was plunged into darkness and was economically doomed. The long load-shedding hours spanning over 18 hours a day had made the life of the people a living hell. The country was also facing a law & order problem. Meanwhile, terrorism and energy crisis had badly affected the economy.
He said that it is due to the hard work and continuous efforts of the PML-N that the darkness of load-shedding has been eliminated.
Furthermore, he added that the consensus decisions made by the political and military leadership have shown positive results and the backbone of the terrorists has been broken. Trade, economic and social activities have been enhanced, and peace has been restored in the country.
He said the hard work with honesty and zeal during the last four years and over, is showing results. “All of us will have to work collectively to expedite the national journey of development and prosperity,” he said.
Shehbaz said that there is no room for anarchy or the politics of chaos in the present day circumstances as the country needs national unity and cohesion more than ever before. The PML-N has always prioritized the politics of norms while the political elements tried to increase the problems of the people through their sit-ins.
He reiterated that instead of making any hollow claims of public service, the government has taken practical steps for the welfare of the people.
“A network of development projects has been spread in the province and the completion of these development schemes will usher in an era of prosperity”, said Shehbaz. “Basic facilities have been provided to the people at their doorstep and the masses are fully benefitting from the fruits of development”, he added.
The chief minister said that the claimants of change have not given anything to the people except deprivations as they have wasted all their time in negative politics and sit-ins. He said that sit-ins, the politics of allegations or jugglery are no service to the people but serving the ailing humanity is a sacred deed and added that the PML-N government is serving the people as a noble deed.
“Our life and death rests with the people and as long as we are alive, we shall continue to serve the people”, he said.
In addition, he said that resources are the trust of the people and every penny is being utilized honestly for public welfare. The world is astonished at the speedy completion of our energy projects. He said that the elements indulged in negative politics will not get anything and the people will hold accountability of the elements doing sit-in politics in the next elections. He also said that a peaceful, prosperous and secure Pakistan is our destination and added that we are moving rapidly towards achieving that goal.
